God of War was my favorite game I had ever played, so it was a no brainer that I would buy God of War II. I was afraid it wouldn't be as good, but it delivered more than I could ever expect out of most games...it almsot triple the "epic" of the first game. The game starts off right away with the most epic boss fight ever against a giant, hulking statue that has been brought to life!

Graphics: Amazing, this game is border line next gen, and it's on the PS2! It's similar of course to God of War, but the level of detail is been amped up ALOT!

Sound: Once again, the voice acting is super solid. You can feel Krato's rage with every breathe. The music returns with alot from the original, which means an epic score!

Story: Continues where GOW left off. Krato's is quickly betrayed by the gods once again. They just can't kill ol' Kratos though as he uses everything he has to make the gods existence a living nightmare. He is out to end them for good.

Gameplay: Same as GOW, but with alot of new twists in the boss battles. Boss battles now have alot more gimmicks you must firgure out in order to defeat them. Their are also alot more puzzles. They are better constructed as well and make you think a little bit.

Overall:Hey, it's God of War, just go out and buy it already!

If you have played God of war then you should, it was great and GOW2 doesnt dissapoint either. Its as good as the first game. The game is visually impressive especially since its on the ps2. It looks really good. The bosses and game characters have tons of detail. Everything in this game has insane amount of good detail. You can get a good appreciation for this games visuals when you get to the ice caverns and the horse statues that pull the garden. That level looked the best. The story is very good and keeps you playing just to hear more. It has a very epic feel to it. Like old movies about greek and roman mythology. The control are excellent and are very responsive. Its easy to control kratos in battle and he moves smoothly about. GOW2 has impressive audio and sound effects. They really make the game better. The music particularly fits the situations in the game. This game is a must own for any ps2 owners game collection. Its cheap now, only $20 and is worth the price. If you played GOW and liked it then GOW2 will definitely satisfy your gaming needs. I would even say if you havent played the first game then you can still have fun with this game. Its that good.

Better then the 1st!

If you are familiar with Kratos' first outing on the PS2, then you'll feel right at home with this one: God of War 2 hooks you during an amazing opening level and doesn't let up until you finish the game some 20-30 hours later. The most impressive aspect of this game, as was true of the first God of War, is the scale on which battles take place. Using the opening level as a reference point, you fight a giant animated statue which is literally the size of a small building, then later in the level you actually ascend the giant from the inside, finally reaching the exit much later. The story is truly what reels you in, as Kratos' penchant for doing violence to those who have wronged him (or to whom he perceives as having wronged him) is legendary: You will want to keep playing just to see which deity Kratos offs next. Technically, the game is amazing, and you will shudder to think that this game is actually running on a PS2. The artistic design is awe-inspiring, and the graphics are nothing short of beautiful. Audio and voice acting are top-notch, especially during cutscenes. The gameplay is second to none, as Kratos controls flawlessly, and the combos and assorted brutalities all feel good to perform. The best thing that can be said about Kratos' latest adventure is that it is left unfinished; when you reach the game's conclusion, you will be driven by a single thought: Kill Zeus...to be continued.

God of War 2

Pros Cons
Intense action Repetitive gameplay
Addictive gameplay
Engaging story
Epic boss fights

God of war 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the first god of war. It combines hard core fighting (that is easy enough for new players to learn), with mind bending puzzles and some of the coolest boss battles I've ever played, it's truly hard to find a moment without some kind of action going on. And with one of the best stories out there it will keep you on the edge of your seat 'till the very ending. It truly does live up to the first god of war and is one of the best titles on the ps2. It is a must play for anyone with a ps2 out there
