Great and Boring at the Same Time

Pros Cons
Engaging story Not enough content
Amazing visuals Repetitive gameplay

Like pretty much every one else who played this game said: It's really fun when you play the first couple levels, then you realize it's going to be the same thing over and over, only more annoying because it keeps getting more difficult. Hopefully the next one will be good (if there is one).

Assassin's Creed is like no other game. It is a stealth game, set in the Middle Ages (except for some sequences). The story is awkward at times but is solid. The gameplay itself is very fun, and the controls are innovative. The combat is sort of hard to pick up, and easy to master. Once you can combo and counter, you will win every battle easily, no matter how many guard come for you. The problem is that the same missions are repeated over and over the whole game and events that would be random in real life show up on your map to do anytime. Also the guards are very dumb sometimes, and other times they chase you even if you aren't acting suspicious. The replay value goes down a lot because the missions you do are repeated throughout the game and there is no multiplayer. If anything this game is fun and definatly worth a rental, but the real draw to it is that all of the things that this game does will be improved times 1000 when the inevitable sequel comes out.

My Assassin's Creed Review

Pros Cons
Tight controls Repetitive gameplay
Engaging story
Awesome audio
Amazing visuals

Assassin's Creed is the story of an assassin by the name of Altair, a member of an Assassin's Guild. You are required to assasinate 9 figures in any way you deem necessary. The graphics in the game are absolutely breathtaking. When you see the cities in the cutscenes, you are actually able to go anywhere it shows. The cities in the game are gigantic, and will leave you amazed at the great amount of detail poured into this title. You have access to different types of weapons, including hidden blades, swords, throwing knives, and other weapons. You are able to pickpocket more knives from bystanders, you can eavesdrop on conversations to advance further into the game, and intimidate bystanders to get more information on the assasination target. The game does get a little repetitive though. But the artwork and scope of the game greatly make up for that point. There are quite a few twists and turns in the story, especially near the end, so no surprises for you here.

I hyped this game from the day I saw the screens. I mean come on, a medieval game where you play as a badass assassin! Yes please! The game kept looking better and better with each preview. Then the game came out.....I rushed to the store and slapped down $60 after hyping it and reading all of the positive reviews. What I got was the most boring, repitive game I've played in years. The environments blew me away initially. This made the game appear to be fun for about a day. The graphics really are as beautiful as they say. The audio, isn't bad, but nor is it exceptional. The controls can be a little frustrating, but work smoothly for the most part. Combat itself, is rather dull, and quickly turns into the same thing again and again. Anyways, the core gameplay is fun. I mean, tracking down a leader and then assassinating him. Unfortunately, it never changes lol Just a different face for each leader. After I killed the 4th guy, I put the controller down, feeling as if I have seen all it has to offer and I haven't played it since. And don't get me started on the horrible side quests. Collect all the flags....how basic. Anyways, this game a no where near worth my $60 and it is just a boring game that I may never finish.

Since the first CGI trailer popped, Assassin's Creed has been a long awaited game among gamers. When the game did finally release, it was met with mixed reviews and bandwagon hopping upon the industry. Many said it was repetitive and had no replay value, and this is true to an extent, but when one sat down, and played the game, Assassin's Creed is a polished experience. The story has a major twist at the beginning of the game, and a whole concept people were not expecting. I will not spoil that here. Go find that out yourself. You play as Altair, an Assassins in the Assassin's Guild during the Crusades. You are given a list of nine people to assassinate in order to bring peace upon the land. You'll be doing this three humongous cities. The cities are Jerusalem, Acre, and Damascus. There are many twists and turns that keep you engrossed throughout. As for the gameplay department, Assassins Creed shines. Hopping and climbing on buildings should be a game in its ownself. It is addicting, and tremendously fun. You basically have three modes, if I can say that. High-profile mode, where you can sprint, jump, etc. Low profile which is essential when near guards and assassin targets, and normal mode, which is what you'll be in most of the game. Altai has four(five counting his fists) weapons at his disposal. His sword, short-blade, throwing knives, and his hidden blade, which is is essential in your assassination missions. Assassinating the targets take time, and thought. Trying to go in blazing will get you killed easily. The controls are tight and responsive, so there isn't much I can say about that department. The sound is really nothing to talk about either, but the voice acting is done very well, so well in fact, you'll feel like watching a movie. There are no cutscenes, except for in-game story dialogue. Coming over to the graphics department. WOW. There are very little games today that can match Assassins Creed in visuals and art Everything feels so real. The building stones and cities themselves feel so alive. I was very stunned of how a multi-platform game could do this. Now, the cons of the game(which shouldn't sway you at all). Before each mission, you are to do a few side missions, which stay the same throughout the game. Pickpocketing, eavesdropping, and intimidating/interrogating. You'll have to do these before every assassination, and it does get a bit repetitive admittedly, but sine each city is shaped so different, it feels different each time. In my eyes at least. After the assassinations and the game is over, there isn't much to do. It is a sandbox game, but other than climbing buildings and assassinating random people, not much. There are however, a total of 420 flags to collect (100 in each city, and 20 in Masyaf) and 40 Templars to kill. Now, I found this part to be fun. I managed to find all the flags and kill every Templar, and if you attempt to do this, it is VERY time consuming. This all depends on how dedicated you are. I found this fun, and very enjoyable. Once you find all flags and kill every Templar, the satisfaction is beyond great. You'll feel accomplished. After that, there isn't much to do. Now, i know this review is a little late, but this game deserves attention. At a price of $29.99 for both the Xbox 360 and PS3, this is a steal in my eyes. Go Buy It.

Awesome mixture

Pros Cons
Addictive gameplay Repetitive gameplay
Amazing visuals
Intense action

The game has pretty much any action/adventure gamer wants an innovative story and great gameplay. The only issue with the game is couple of hours into the story you notice the game play is kind of linear, but the great visuals and the story end up overcoming all flaws and making this a must own.

Well made but not a lot of fun

Pros Cons
Innovative concepts Repetitive gameplay
Amazing visuals Not enough content
Engaging story

As gorgeous as Assassin's Creed looks, and as smart as its gameplay ideas are, it's a little too weird to easily recommend. Basically, it's Grand Theft Auto set in ancient times. Instead of cops, you clash with town guards; instead of firing guns, you stab and slice with concealed assassin blades. This is one fine-looking game with some tremendously inspired ideas, but after playing for 30 minutes, I put the game down and never went back. The game just gets far too repetetive with it's 3 or 4 different mission types. This is a fun world to explore, but games like Grand Theft Auto do this of play better. Worth trying, though.

asassin's creed

this game is AWESOME you can do anything anytime, you can climb any building almost, and when you get bored you can just start killing random people, the fighting system gets old though so i think it's better to just assassinate everyone you kill

Assassin's Creed Review

Assassin's Creed.. Had alot of hipe up about it. Everyone was exciting and were even more exciting about the "Twist" Well, not only was the twist revealed in the first half hour of the game but it also sucked! your some bar tender who was kidnapped by some company because of his ancestors. one word to describe this little "twist" LAME! when you do play this other character who was kidnapped, you dont do anything but walk around slowly going to bed then walking back to the aminux. wat is the aminux u ask? it's the machine thay u on thats surprisingly just like the matrix that makes u finally play as the assassin during the crusade. As the story unfolds while your playing the bar tender, it's just lame and retarded. no one cares... they just want to climb building and kick templar ASS! The controls are goofy and i didn't even want to play the game for the first 2 hours because i couldn't get used to the controls. and the controls and movment are kinda broken when climbing stuff. There will be a ledge right above you but no! u can't get to it. Theres high points that u have to climb to that shows u the whole city and then ur objectives of getting information on your assassination target apear. Then from there, instead of climbing back down u can jump and land in a bushel of hay. But if your facing the wrong way when you jump then your screwed! all it is is o shhhiiiitttt! Splat! There are 9 assassination targets that are all historcal figures that diassapeaered during the time of the crusade. Each time u kill one u get zapped back to that stupid bar tender that know one cares about. it's tiring! Now lets talk about the combat system.. once u get the hang of it your unstopable. you don't even need to waste your time tring to stealthly assassinate people when you can just kick there ass with a sowrd. Not to mention that they said that u would be able to kill them any way u want which isnt true because it's either u throw knives at them until they die, sneak up and stick a dagger in there neck, or hack there arms off with your trusty blade... boring! also before u can assassinate your target u need to get information on when and where to do it. U basicaly go around easdropping, pick pocketing, interigating, and doing little favors your your assassin buddies to get information. and it's the same stuff each and every time u get a new target. it's so repetetive. The dialogue is very corny and unbeilevable also. the graphics are O.K. but they would look better on a different T.V. then what i use. The enviroment is really amazing and breath taking but not so much the details of the actual world. Plus it dosent have the greatest soundtrack ever... It's fun for maybe the first 3 assassinations and thats it. Im only still playing this game for the acheivments. all in all i only say this game deserves a 2.5 THANK YOU FOR READING!
